MICSED got off to a great start this month when Julie McLoughlin joined us to help with the administration side of the grant. Julie has a BA in Accountancy and Finance and has previously worked at Durham’s Stockton campus as an administrator. Before that she worked for the National Audit Office and Audit commission, so brings a wealth of experience to the post. Julie will work partly on the MICSED programme and partly as admistrator for the SOFI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT). SOFI is a collaborative project in Soft Matter and Functional Interfaces between Durham, Leeds and Edinburgh Universities and sponsored by the EPSRC. Many of the MICSED academics have close links to SOFI.
