23th February to 06th March 2015 – Jülich, Germany
Every year the Jülich centre organizes a school on a research topic. The 2015 theme was Soft Matter.
ESR 1 attended the school together with other PhD students and Master students from 36 countries in the world with many different backgrounds (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Engineering). There were lectures on theory of soft matter, simulations and experimental techniques with interactive computational laboratories and visits to the research facilities.
The students were based in Aachen and they went for a trip to Cologne. Over there they had a “taste” of application of soft materials in the real world in the local chocolate museum.
